Fine Silver Chamberstick With Snuffer by Matthew Boulton, 1825. InteriorsA scarce sterling silver chamberstick with conical snuffer, the chamberstick being fully hallmarked for the celebrated silversmith Matthew Boulton, Birmingham, 1825. The snuffer (of the same date but maker stamp of 'WC', likely William Chawner II) fits perfectly into the holder and to the top of the the chamberstick. Matthew Boulton (17281809) was a pioneering Birmingham silversmith who elevated the city's metalworking reputation through his craft. He

The pages of both volumes show some age tone throughout and spotting to the preliminary pages

The boards bound in tanleather with gilt borders to both the boards

The obelisks are of handsome form and good proportions
