This is a unique piece. The jadeite has the rough or "rind" attached and incorporated into the design. It gives the pendant a rustic and organic look. The jadeite is cut into a near teardrop shape. The front of it is carved with a cicada. Cicada symbolizes resurrection, immortality, spiritual realization and ecstasy. The carving on this piece is completely done by hand
